A collection of places and memories
Poké Lid Dex is an unofficial fan tracker for Pokémon manhole lids, or PokéFuta, across Japan. Find your next lid, plan a visit, and keep your own photos and notes.
No account is needed. Your collection is saved in this browser on this device. Where enabled, Settings → Sign in & cloud backups adds an optional private account.
Explore the lidsFour ways to explore
- Lids
- Browse the catalogue, search cities or Pokémon, and filter by region, prefecture, caught status, or saved lids. Open Details & trips for a lid's location, travel actions, and a link to its public details.
- Map
- See the lids that match your filters. Open a marker to view details or directions. Map backgrounds need an internet connection.
- Trips
- Save lids for later, create named trips, add stops, and move them up or down into your preferred order. View a trip on the map or open directions to an individual stop. The app does not calculate an optimized route.
- Journal
- Mark visited lids as caught, set a visit date, and add a memory photo or note. Share memory cards only when you want to share those details.
Nearby lids can use a location you enter, an approximate prefecture starting point, or your device location after you choose Use my location. Distances are straight-line estimates, not walking or driving times. Your starting point stays in memory for this session.
Keep a backup of your collection
Open Settings → Export backup to download a JSON file containing catches, dates, photos, notes, saved lids, and trips. Keep that file somewhere you trust, and export again after adding memories.
A backup is private. It is not encrypted and may contain your photos, notes, and travel history. Do not post it in a public issue, chat, or shared folder.
To move your collection, open the tracker in the destination browser or device and choose Settings → Import backup. Read the confirmation before continuing: importing replaces catches, notes, and photos. Current backups also replace saved lids and trips; older backups without travel lists keep the existing travel lists.
Browser profiles, installed apps, devices, and website domains may have separate storage. A custom domain cannot automatically read your collection from the old address. Export from the old address before importing at the new one, and keep the original backup until you have checked the result.
Optional accounts support private cloud backups, including your photos and travel lists. Sign in, choose Back up this device, then sign in on another device and deliberately restore the chosen backup. Each snapshot stays separate; this is not automatic sync. Export the second device's collection before replacing it. Signing in or out never changes a local collection automatically.
Very old backups use catalogue positions that changed in past versions. Check that restored memories belong to the expected lids. A recovery export may need repair before it can be imported; keep the original file.
Install on your phone
iPhone or iPad
- Open the tracker in Safari.
- Open the Share menu and choose Add to Home Screen.
- Choose Add, then launch Poké Lid Dex from the new icon.
Android
- Open the tracker in a browser that supports installed web apps, such as Chrome.
- Use its menu to choose Install app or Add to Home screen, if offered.
- Follow the browser's prompt and open the new icon.
Menu labels and installation support vary by browser and device. Installation does not create an account or a cloud backup. If your collection looks different after installing, keep both copies and use export/import to transfer it.
Offline use and app updates
After a successful online load, the app shell, catalogue, and local map libraries are cached for offline use. Your saved collection stays in browser storage. Public lid artwork is cached when viewed; artwork you have not opened may be missing offline.
Map tiles, external directions, official websites, and GitHub need an internet connection. This app does not download offline map areas. Browser storage can be removed or evicted, so caching is not a backup.
When a new version is ready, choose Update app after finishing note edits and photo saves. Wait for an import, export, or other storage operation to finish before updating or closing the app.
If an older installed version does not update, close all tracker tabs and fully quit the installed app, then reopen it online. Export a backup before troubleshooting. Clearing website data or uninstalling the app can remove your collection.
Edit or remove your memories
In Journal, edit a note and save it empty to remove its text. Use Remove photo to delete a memory photo from this device while keeping its catch, date, and note. Uncatching a lid hides it from Journal; it does not erase its stored memories.
Settings → Clear all data deletes this origin's catches, notes, photos, saved lids, trips, and theme preference after confirmation. Downloaded backups and shared images are separate copies; delete those separately if needed.
Read the privacy information for local storage and external map requests.
Help improve the tracker
Report bugs, incorrect lid information, or feature suggestions through the project's GitHub Issues. Include the steps you took and your browser or device if useful.
Issues are public. Do not attach private backups, personal photos, precise location, or sensitive notes. GitHub has its own account and privacy policies.

The catalogue is a bundled snapshot and may lag new installations, relocations, or access changes. The app does not have a verified update date for every entry. Check the official Pokémon manhole website and local information before travelling.
